Accept Event Registrations

Participants need to be able to register for your event through your Joomla site.  Registration captures the participants information and creates a login account for them.  The participants information is then re-used on the fundraising page.  It can be set up so that once a participant registers, they receive an email notification, and you (or the event manager) receive an email notification for the new participant. 

There are several considerations when planning for your online event registration:

  1. Will event participants be allowed to register as a team?
    1. Can the participant create their own team name during registration?
    2. Can the participant join other teams during registration?
  2. Are virtual participants allowed?
  3. Are there options for the type of event registration (is there a 1 mile walk, 5 mile walk, etc)?
  4. Is there a registration fee?
  5. What contact information needs collected during registration?
  6. What information is required or validated during registration?
  7. Are their other options such as purchasing items, t-shirt size needed, fundraising goals, etc?
  8. Do you want to ask for optional information such as How Did You Hear About Us or Comments?
